What does tubhub Spa Cartridge / Filter Cleaner Powder do?

tubhub Spa Filter Cleaner Powder is a rapidly soluble formula for cartridge filter cleaning and removal of scale, rust, oils and greases.

How does tubhub Spa Cartridge / Filter Cleaner Powder work?

Measure 100g of Filter Cleaner Powder using the enclosed 10ml spoon (10ml converts to approx 10g), i.e. 10 scoops into a plastic bucket of up to 18 litres topped up with clean water and then stir in the contents.

First hose off any loose debris / materials from your cartridge / filter and place the dirty cartridge into the solution.  Ensure the cartridge is completely immersed and soak overnight.  Clean and rinse with fresh water.  For best results allow the cartridge to dry (tightens fibres) before re-installing.  Once filter cleaner powder pot will allow for 5 cleaning solution treatments.

Common Questions

Why should I choose tubhub Spa Cartridge / Filter cleaner powder?

This is sold in convenient pots with a scoop in each pot to enable you to measure the required amount easily.  It is very important to regularly and thoroughly clean the filters in your spa.  This will ensure that your water is as clean as possible, and will avoid you having to drain your spa more frequently than should be needed.

What precautions should I take when using tubhub spa Cartridge / Filter cleaner?

Good question!  Be sure to wear gloves when handling tubhub Spa Cartridge / Filter cleaner because chemical products can be an irritant when handled directly.  When using this product, wear eye and face protection and ensure powder is not blown back in your face.  Keep this product and the solution away from eyes at all times.  Never mix with other chemicals as a dangerous reaction may occur.

Our experts say

Dissolve the product into a clean bucket containing 18 litres of water.  Soak your filter overnight, ensuring that the filter is fully submerged.   After soaking, rinse your filter then leave it until it is completely dry.  Once dry, tap it gently on a hard surface to loosen any remaining debris.  It is very important to leave your filter to dry completely, because to survive bacteria need moisture.

Regular cleaning of your filter is an important part of hot tub maintenance.  This will help avoid you having to replace the filter before it is absolutely necessary.  We recommend having two filters so that you can thoroughly soak one and allow it to dry while the other filter is in the spa.

As with all chemicals, please remember to pay attention to the instructions on the back of the tub.
