Need to know
Heating
This aspect must be considered from the outset and it can often be surprisingly
cheap to heat a pool. It costs less to heat a pool for a season that it costs to
moor a boat for a year.
Heating a pool is a principal consideration. The warmer and more enticing the environment is, the more the facility will be used. Many pool owners prefer to heat their pools by heat exchangers which are run off their domestic boilers through stainless steel heat exchangers. Other heating options that we can provide include:
- A range of electrical heat pumps
- Gas heaters - if natural gas/propane is available
- Oil boilers - highly efficient and a range of direct electrical heaters is recommended operating on the Economy Seven tariff.
- Computer controlled automatic activation and monitoring
Humidity and condensation
We will advise you on the most up
to date methods of handling both elements to help you reduce your running costs.
Indoor pools produce large amounts of water vapour which can be harmful to your decor and your structure unless it is removed. Conventional ventilation systems remove water vapour in ways that are wasteful and uneconomic. Heat is removed with the vapour increasing your heating bills. Azure Pools provide the perfect answer with Total Environment Control. It enables you to:
- Heat your pool - all year round at the lowest possible cost
- Protect your pool - thanks to advanced dehumidification
- Heat the environment with highly efficient warm air distribution.
Total Environment Control is based on heat recovery, which re-uses energy normally wasted with remarkable cost savings. You benefit from:
- Less need for fresh air ventilation
- Controlled humidity
- Heat recovery to both water and air
- A balanced and regulated environment.
For smaller installations a range of alternatives to reuse energy that would otherwise be wasted and to help reduce heating bills overall are available. Free advice is offered to help you find and fit the best.
Cleaning, maintenance, and water purification
Which sanitiser? What cleaner?
We'll give you the best advice, with a practical demonstration, which is all part of
the Azure service.
Commissioning your pool for use or maintaining it in a healthy and hygienic condition requires simple testing and dosing with an appropriate sanitiser. You test regularly for acidity, alkalinity and bacteria but we'll advise you on the best agents to use and you'll find that the test is practically all you have to do to keep the pool in constant use. More and more the trend is to move as far away as possible from chemical sanitisers. Chlorine has an unpleasant smell and it can cause stinging eyes and skin irritations. Other pool cleansing and sanitising products have been developed and these include ozone and salt chlorination, with the option of automatically regulated control. Again, we will gladly advise you on what works best and why but chemicals need no longer be a stumbling block to pool ownership.
Cleaning is assisted by your filtration equipment but there are also several other alternatives that you might like to consider:
- A range of very efficient pool vacuums
- Automatic pool cleaners - for the owner who prefers everything to be as effortless as possible.
Other considerations:
Hydrostatics
The last thing you want is water rising underneath the pool shell and you'll certainly see the effect if it does. Being aware of it means that we'll take care of it so that it will never be a problem for you
Drains and soakaways
When planning your pool, you'll need to consider where the nearest drainage point is. It's useful if you can locate your equipment nearby.
Underwater lighting
A most attractive feature and easy to fit during the building phase. It is much harder to fit later on.
Entry and exit
For young and old, confidence is the key to mastery in the water and the easier you can make it for them, the happier they'll all be.
Enclosures and materials
A firm idea at the outset will add to the enjoyment of the installation and help you to make the best use of your budget
